CSF

We've been doing some experiments with the new scanner lately. The video below shows the flow of cerebrospinal fluid through my neck. The black and white line is CSF moving up and down my spine. The static is mostly due to air outside and inside my neck.

We're thinking of applying this technique to study CSF and blood flow in the brain. But for right now, this is just really cool.

Watchmen: Director's Cut

You know what, when all the deleted scenes, special features, and animation are spliced together this will actually turn out to be a decent enough movie. Shame it had to be cut down so much for the theater. I'm going to have to seek out the Ultimate Edition now just to see the pirate sequences.

Mom and Dad vs. The Empire State: Part 2

From Madison Square Garden, The Empire State Building doesn't look all that tall.

It really looks like this.

South Manhattan from the 86th floor.

North Manhattan from the 104th floor.
That's not smog, the glass was filthy.

The Chrysler Building.

We were high up.

I took this without them knowing.

The quick route down from the 104th floor.

Contrary to popular opinion, this is not a real frog.
